Personnel Development Training
Development of personnel through training is an important concept at WGPC. The Human Resources Department conducts regular in-house classes on many subjects including: Front Line Supervision, Team Leadership, and Management Development. Employees are also encouraged to attend off-site classes which would increase their skill set and improve their productivity.
Technical Training
Technical training on safety regulations, safety procedures and our products is coordinated by the Service and Safety Departments. Safety classes for Service Technicians address specific regulations or safety issues. Since these vary depending upon the area of the country or region of the world which they work, Safety Classes are selected to match the needs of the Service Technicians' job requirements. Service Technicians receive certification confirming which safety classes they have completed and allowing them to work under specific service conditions.
Our Service Technicians are also required to successfully complete our comprehensive Field Service Training Program which covers a wide range of WGPC's wellhead and gate valve products. All attendees must achieve specific standards of proficiency as defined by the Service and Training Departments. These classes cover oilfield terminology, basic wellhead design, product identification, installation procedures, service procedures and trouble-shooting techniques.
Field Service Training Classes are often held at one of our many domestic or international service centers but may also be held at our new Technology Center in Sugar Land, Texas, southwest of Houston. This state-of-the-art facility is large - 16,000 sq/ft - and includes offices, a classroom, a product display area, an equipment demonstration area and a Research and Development laboratory.
At this time, WGPC is developing an Online Equipment Training Program to act as a prerequisite to our classroom training curriculum. This program will allow WGPC employees in any department worldwide easy access to product information on an introductory level and can be used to quickly refresh their knowledge about many topics. The Online course will incorporate self-paced completion with testing monitored by the Training Department.
These educational aides are designed to assist engineers, purchasing and materials personnel, or anyone requiring a better understanding of API wellhead or gate valve products and their applications.
Customer Training
WGPC also offers our customers API Wellhead and Gate Valve seminars designed to provide an in-depth understanding of wellhead and gate valve products, designs, installation and terminology. Training classes may be tailored to meet customer requirements for technical content and time available.
