PRS Pressure Reduction System
The WGPC PRS Pressure Reduction System is a device that reduces both velocity and pressure while conditioning or streamlining flow.
Taking a drop in flowing pressure is usually achieved by the production choke. In some cases, the required pressure drop can be significant and two chokes are used. However, two chokes can pose more maintenance problems and be difficult to regulate.
Alternatively, a PRS can be positioned downstream from the choke to distribute the pressure drop and reduce flow velocity. The PRS's unique hole pattern eliminates flow turbulence and vibration which can damage equipment downstream. The result is superior to the use of two chokes.
